ARCHITECTS AND ENGINEERS SUGGESTED SPECIFICATIONS:

Furnish and install as shown on plans a Federal Pump Corporation Type VSABM standard-fitted, vertical, non-clog dry pit simplex (or duplex) sewage pump unit, (each) pump rated ____ G.P.M. at a Total Dynamic Head of ____ ft. and directly driven thru a flexible coupling by ____ H.P ____ R.P.M ____ phase, ____ cycles, ____ volts, drip-proof (or totally-enclosed, explosion-proof motor(s).

Pump(s) shall have cast iron enclosed non-clog impeller, cast iron casing, stainless steel shaft secured to impeller by key and nut. Deep stuffing box shall have adjustable bronze gland. Radial bearing shall be bronze sleeve type and thrust bearing shall be ball type, both mounted in cast iron combination bearing housing and motor pedestal of tongue-in-groove construction. Coupling to be flexible type and base to be heavy cast iron with clean-out plug. Furnish a magnetic line voltage type starter in NEMA 1 (or NEMA 4 watertight; NEMA 7 explosion-proof) wall-mounting enclosure for (each) motor, to provide thermal overload and low voltage protection, plus control circuit.

Note: Specify level control for installation in wet well. Level controls can be any of the following: float switch, electrode, diaphragm switch, bubbler or FEDERAL SUBMERS-A-BULB.
